Misdemeanor Crimes
In Tucson and Pima County, many misdemeanor crimes can be defended, compromised, or referred for a diversion. Sometimes a plea agreement can include reduced fines and/or public service in place of a larger fine.

Civil Traffic Citations
Civil Traffic citations can be defended in Court or dismissed through defensive driving or traffic school. They do not carry any criminal penalties, though some penalties such as points on your MVD record can have financial consequences.
If you have received a citation while on your bicycle while in Tucson or Pima County, you may be eligible for a bicycle diversion class that will result in the dismissal of your citation at the completion of the program.
Sometimes the citing officer gets it wrong. Sometimes people pay the ticket as a business decision. So the issuance of a citation, or the disposition of it, cannot be used to establish liability in a civil injury case.
